What Field Competent is, and is not

A personal record-keeping tool for firearms, licences, ammunition, range sessions and hunts.
•
It does not apply for, renew or lodge anything with SAPS, the Central Firearms Register or an association. You remain responsible for your licences, renewals and dedicated-status obligations.
•
Licence rules, limits and reminders are shown to help you and follow the SAPS licence guide; your licence documents, the official registers and the law decide. Check with SAPS or an attorney when it matters.
•
Ballistic figures and dope cards are calculations. Confirm them at the range before relying on them; you are responsible for every shot you take.
Free and Premium
•
The free version keeps one active firearm, with licence reminders included.
•
Premium is a yearly subscription. It renews automatically every year, on the date you first paid, until you cancel.
•
You pay the yearly price that applied when you subscribed for as long as you stay subscribed, including a launch price. If we ever have to raise the price for existing subscribers, we will tell you at least 40 business days before the renewal it applies to, and you can cancel before then.

On the website we email you at least 14 days before each renewal. In the phone app, Google Play or the App Store manages renewals and reminders.
•
You can cancel any time: on the website in Settings, in the phone app through Google Play or the App Store. Premium stays on until the end of the year you paid for and nothing more is charged. Your records stay on your account on the free plan; extra firearms are archived, never deleted.
•
If a renewal payment fails, Premium stays on for 3 more days while it is retried, then your account moves to the free plan.
•
Premium unlocks the features listed on the Premium page at the time you subscribe, on every device you sign in to. Features added later may be included in Premium or offered separately.
•
Prices are in rand and include VAT where applicable. Launch prices can end at any time for new subscribers without notice; this does not change the price of people already subscribed.
Refunds
•
You can ask for a refund within 7 days of your first Premium payment, once per account. Renewal payments are not refunded; cancel before the renewal date instead.
•
Bought in the phone app: ask Google Play or the App Store. Their refund rules and decisions apply.
•
Bought on the website: email support@fieldcompetent.com from the address on your account.
•
When a refund goes through, Premium and its renewal are cancelled and extra firearms are archived (never deleted). A later subscription on the same account cannot be refunded again, except where the law requires it.
•
Nothing here limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by relying on reminders, limits or calculations instead of your own checks. Our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months.
